Problem with Vuplus streaming as client

I have updated today my two Vuplus (Duo2 and Zero) to BH 5.0.009 via USB.

When trying to configure the Zero as client for the channels (I do not have a dish connection and I use the Duo2 as streaming server for the Zero) the Zero hangs.

Reinstalled multiple times, also reverting to the original 5.0.001, but nothing.

Also, I noticed that the plugins server in the Zero shows only picons and settings, but nothing more. In the Duo2 I can see all categories.

I have set the Network password and mounted the decos with user and password in both devices. But, as soon as I set the Zero to client in the tuners menu, when rebooting (to change mode) it hangs.

I cannot revert to any previous version. Any clues about what can be going on?

009, if you had read the many posts about it, had serious issues and was "disabled".
.001 was probably immature.
Just a curiosity (because I can't try it, as I reversed to .008 by my fullbackup from yesterday): when you reflashed by .001, did you have online updates available or are feeds "blocked" at the moment because of the above mentioned problem with .009 update?

Hi, thanks for your feedback. Yes, I did not read the threads and I installed the .009 "blindly" :wallbash:

I have not tried a reflash with the .001 + online update. I will try and I will post the result.

Is there any repository where I can find the .008 version? I notice that in the OBH web there is no version available for vuplus.

OK, as promised, some feedback:

1. I reversed to .001 in my Zero: no upgrades and only settings in the plugins download. I tried to set it in client mode from the Duo2 for the channels streaming and the same problem; after rebooting, it hangs.

2. I reverted the Zero to 4.4.023 (last version, I assume) and I did not touch the Duo2 (i.e. still in 5.0.009): I can see all plugins download catalogue, and I set it to client mode from the Duo2 and it works.

So, there is a bug in the 5.0 version with regards to the operation of the decoder in client mode. Where can I report it? Is it enough the information provided in this thread?

There is no problem with the fallbacktuner between OBH images, at least until version 5.0.008...

Why do you make reference plugins?

. . . see if this can help you ;)

It's in Italian, but the google translator helps :D

It may not be necessary to disable the tuner on the client box... only when it is not really possible to connect to an antenna or cable.

# Client box is connected to an antenna that points to satellite A and server to satellite B;

# The client box is connected to an antenna that points to the satellite A and the server at it, however the server may be able to receive more than one channel and the client (PIP) does not.

You can also try "Remote Channel Stream Converter" Very easy to use
Can be downloaded from the Feeds. Only needs to be installed on the slave box.

In settings add the IP Adress to your server box. Username is root password blank or if you have created one. Insert into password field.
Press Greenbutton and download the remote bouquest you want to use.

When done exit and go to channel list. Now you find your new bouquets.
Enjoy.

I think the Falbacktuner is even the most appropriate... no "download" bouquets list of box server, just use the same list of this or any other to that server can "answer"...

Yes, that is my case in one of the receivers. It is in one room where no sat cable is available, so I use it in client mode, the server being a Duo2.

The problem was that, with 5.0.009 installed, I could not even download any plugin either, so I could not try "Remote Channel Stream Converter".

Anyway, OBH does not need any plugins for that: just go to Tuner configuration and use the last item in that submenu for fallback configuration.

Hi all,

Final feedback. I have installed the new 5.0.009 version in the Zero decoder and now everything is working fine. I can set it in client mode and I can see all plugins. Thanks to all for your help!

Hi, the problem was with the image of last Saturday, which was not working properly (I did not notice the warnings that other people were posting). No streaming method was working at all. Now that it has been rebuilt everything is fine.
