About ultimo 4k KODI

That is just the gui resolution, your Videos will playback in the resolution your STB is set to.
Only VU+ themselves can answer why there is no choice of higher resolution as they maintain the plug in.
 
kodi is 720p native.

Nothing you can do about that, but as above, it's just the gui (skin), video playback will be in the correct resolution
