Alphanumeric keyboard and Youtube TV

I am wondering why the Duo2 RCU alphanumeric keyboard can't be used with Youtube TV. Instead of using navigation buttons to type anything in the Youtube search, much easier would be to use alphanumeric keyboard. It would save a lot of time.
