backup

Vu+ Newbie
Hello,

Is it possible, once you have a working VU+ Zero configured properly, with all your bouquets, etc. to save that config to a USB stick, so that , for any reason the machine can't boot anymore, that I simply plug the USB and the VU+ restores everything to the box so that I have the last working config with all settings restored?

Thank you

You should be able to, via the backup menu, but you'll need to specify where you want the backup saved, usually I save it to the hard drive.
You can also use software, like Dreambox Edit, to save your channels/Bouquets.
You can also use an FTP program, like Filezilla, to back up files, like the Enigma 2 file.

I need to be able to restore without using a PC...hence my question with the USB stick.
Is there a way to make a bootable stick that will then "restore" the machine to it's state when backed up?
Thanks

Yes.When you choose full backup make sure you have selected full backup/Path to store full backup/media usb.Make sure you have your usb mounted

With software manager you can make a partial backup
let's say for the next image
There you have system-backup and system-restore.
also you have in advanced >>backupfiles.
There you can choose what you want to backup which folder or file.

In Main Menu you have Full Backup and Personal Backup.

therefore all possibilities.
