Vu+ Newbie
Hi,

I'm gonna buy very soon a Vu+ Uno but I don't know which disk should I buy.

I'm thinking about one these:

2.5":
WD5000BPVT - 8MB - 5400rpm
WD5000LPVT - 8MB - 5400rpm
WD5000BEKT - 16MB - 7200rpm
WD5000BPKT - 16MB - 7200rpm

3.5"
WD5000AADS - 8MB - 5200rpm

Can you please help me?

To my opinion, there is really no need for an expensive and extremely fast hard disk in a satellite receiver.
All recordings can be done on any hard disk, regardless the cache or the RPMs.

I would suggest a 2.5" disk with 5400 rpms. It really is enough for any use on a receiver plus it is quite silent and is not becoming warm thanks to the 5400 rpms.

Personally, I have installed an almost 3-year old 250Gb 2.5" disk with 5400 rpms which became spare after an upgrade of my macbook pro. No complaints so far, no doubt it is more than enough.

Don't spent extra money on hard disks. Your receiver will not benefit from the top performance of the new disks...
