Every few days or so I keep getting an error saying that my hard disk is not found. I either have to remount it again which sometimes works or more often than not I'll need to intialize the disk again. This is really annoying because it means I lose all my recorded programs and EPG data etc. Is there a proper way to fix this? Thanks.

The box I have is a Vu+ Solo2 and the hard drive is an internal Western Digital WD7500BPVT-2 750GB HDD. I briefly used an external Toshiba HDD with the same box and I experienced the same problems. I don't believe it is a fault with the hard drive. Thanks.

At first do an online update. It should not be a problem of HW, because external HDD is using USB controller and internal different SATA controller.
In what file system did you formatted them?
I've been using for about three weeks WD7500BPKT (brand new formatted ext3 by BH) without problems. Now Toshiba ext3 format is working well too.
Thanks for the reply. Apologies for the delay in replying! I have tried formatting the drive once again and this time I left the HDD standby option at default. I usually always change this to off. This time I left it to go into stand-by after 10 minutes. So far so good. It has been stable for around 5 or 6 days which is as long as I have been able to get it to work
