With BH 1.6.5, is it possible to use the built in EPG for some providers and CrossEPG for others? I have tried but it didn't work for me - but should it work?

On BH 1.66 its possible, so I do not see why not with BH1.65!
Make Epg Backup stored @USP!

Doesn't work for me...

This is what I did:
Installed BH 1.6.6 in flash
Installed latest drivers
Made 128Mb swap file on usb.
Pressed Blue/Red and selected Yes for OpenTV EPG loader and pop-up notifications and buttons in channel list then set EPG default store at /media/usb/epg.dat
Enabled EPG Backup on /media/usb/
Downloaded EPG data for Rytec SkyUK.

Results:
I can see EPG data for UK channels
I can see epg.dat in /media/usb
EPG Backup is enabled but says EPG Backup not found

Then I set up CrossEPG:
In the config menu I selected storage device - USB stick
I selected yes for CSV import, reload at boot and download on tune.
Then I downloaded an XMLTV EPG (Rytec Greece in English) and the download completed.

Results:
There is no longer any EPG data for UK channels
There is no EPG data for Greek channels
The epg.dat file (for UK) has disappeared from /media/usb/
A crossepg folder has appeared in /media/usb/ and the log file confirms the Rytec XMLTV data has been downloaded

So it seems if I use both the BH EPG and CrossEPG then I get nothing. I tried restarting GUI and the EPG backup can now be found and is visible on /media/usb/epg.dat.bak. But there's no epg.dat and no EPG data for either UK or Greek channels.

What do you do to make it work?

Can nobody help with this? I can't use BH EPG on its own because with 7 Rytec providers, I find the receiver won't come out of standby sometimes. So I am trying solve this by using BH EPG for, say, 2 providers, and CrossEPG for the others. So many other people use both successfully - so why do I get the above problem?
