Black Hole and accessibility

Is there any chance to install/use screen readers in BH images? It could be useful for visually impaired people that would gain easy access to every menus and settings like in computer or iphone/ipad.
For example, look here: h**ps://live.gnome.org/Orca What do you think?

It's a good idea, but it's impossible to implement it because of processor speed, amount of flash and ram memory.
Did you try it on Ubuntu Gnome desktop with Open Webif?

No I didn't try it, but I got the idea from a blind person who could be interesting in Vu+ satellite box. At the moment an accessible satellite receiver doesn't exist, so he thought Vu+ could be. Bad luck, maybe in the future.

I think that if it's possible to control Open Webif from PC, he'll be able to control not all, but enough important functions of Vu+.

Paolino I don't use Linux.... Open Webif means web interface to control the box? If so, yes! He uses some devices (router, NAS or similar) through web-based interface. To do this, normal Windows PC with a screen reader installed is enough, and using Internet Explorer or Firefox you can remotely control all devices equipped with this type of interface.
Could you please tell me which limitation in this interface? Thank you.

Yes, IExplorer, Firefox, Google,... Open Webif is web interface, you can zap channels, control volume, timers, power, do some box settings (A/V control, Customize box, HDD setup), has reduced remote control buttons... Limitations? For everyday use is a complete interface. By my opinion is that, what you need. Remains only to test the reader. I can't do it. I don't have a reader.

OK, understood. It is exactly what he needs. And if Open Webif works just with HTML code I'm 100% sure that all modern screen readers perfectly make their job. Many tests are just performed for these application, because a web-based interface works like a common web site. Problem could begin if the interface uses particular Java Applet or advanced Flash function. If not, no problem. So, I probably will buy Duo2 when it will be available, I will test it with my friend, and I will report our opinion here. If results will be OK.... Well, I know him.... Probably he will order immediately another Duo2!

No Java, no Flash.
I think, that Solo2 will be enough for him. Why don't you ask your local dealer to lend you only Solo or Duo for tests? I'll be very happy, when it'll work for your friend!
