cant save more than 1 satellite

This is weird one and i,m sure this has been discussed already so i am sorry if i,m creating a dup thread but i am having problems storing more than 1 satellite on my vu duo...tuner setup is as i always had it on 1.73 and earlier bh images even as far back as lower 1.3 rev images.

If i store one satellite on posistion 1 its fine but when i try and store a second it shows no frequency and signal stays 00..i know the dish is moving and finding the satellites because if i put the second line direct from lnb to my sat meter it finds the satellite banging in but the bars on the posistioner menu stay at 0 and i cant store it obviously as the duo thinks there is no satellite to store.

I have downloaded what i believe to be the latest satellites.xml file from thier website file creator and ftp,d it to etc/tuxbox and tried chmod 644 and 755 and full or e2 restart but its still the same.

I also seen somewhere the satellites.xml file should go to etc/enigma but i,m not sure if thats just for open pli based images but i tried all that too to no avail.

This problem only seemed to occur when i upgraded from bh 1.73 to 1.78 and now i am on the latest bh image its still the same...i,m sure its something i am doing wrong or something that needs corrected so i would appreciate some help please

VU DUO
2.01 (latest online update)
Latest vhannible motor setiings
1.1 dish with technomate diseqc motor
Tuner A advanced diseqc mode 1.2
Tuner B equal to tuner A

Many thanks in advance

I'm not in front of box, but you should use "positioner" option for motorized dish. (Duo user manual, page 22). Your motor seems to be Usals. So by this way you don't have to save position of every sat, motor will turn the dish automatically.

I am aware of what the usals function is for mate but due to the limited number of satellites i can receive its much easier in my situation not to use usals as i would need to clamber onto the roof and and mess around with the bracketry and my dish which i,m not willing to do right now..

I have been storing satellites at my home first with a dm600 and then the duo for the past 3 years with no problems at all so i dont know whats going on with this latest image.

Im also using usals (no probs)

1. but have you test with Config TUNER B Loopthrue to Tuner A ?
==============================================
2. Maybe you can try that tuner B is the main tuner and not tuner A
(connect antenna to B)
at the moment I can not test
because I'm not at home

Copied from wiki: Universal Satellites Automatic Location System (USALS), also known (unofficially) as DiSEqC 1.3, Go X or Go to XX is a satellite dish motor protocol that automatically creates a list of available satellite positions in a motorised satellite dish setup. It is used in conjunction with the DiSEqC 1.2 protocol. It was developed by STAB, an Italian motor manufacturer, who still make the majority of USALS compatible motors.

You don't have to go to roof, Usals is name for "positioner" option in your tuner setup.

Hi paolina in my case my dish and bracketry would need attention for usals to work properly..as in the pole has to be completely straight and dish aligned correctly and mines is not(call it lazy maybe)...thats what your supposed to do for usals mate. storing the posistions has worked just fine for years up until i upgraded my boxes software

Anyway i should not need to do something different with my motorised setup that i have been doing for years because i put new software on my box.

I will try what Matrix has stated thanks guys.

Lol problem solved thanks Matrix10... changed tuner b to loopthrough to A ... i think i must have changed that from my setup when i was trying to get the loopthrough from tuner b for my sat meter and changed it to equal.. all working anyway thanks for the replys guys
