Channel alternatives: how dows it work?

Hello,
since I've got my Duo2 with BH 2.1.4 I found very interesting this feature about channel alternatives.
I thought it was meant to switch to alternatives in case the main one has no signal.
But this doesn't seem to be the case and I now decided to remove all the alternatives.
Someone could explain how exactly this feature works?

I think a lot of the alternative channels are regional feeds, news, adverts things like this are on a region to region basis.

No, I'm not talking about this but about VU+ (or BlackHole) feature which whom you can assign alternatives to a channel included in one of your bouquets (VU+ bouquet, of course). This has nothing to do with regional feeds but with channels existing on different satellites or systems. For instance, I have channels existing on DVB-T, 13°E and 19,2.

Are you using Blindscan to search for channels? If sats are 3° to 4° apart or more BS should be ok. I found that if I use BS on very close satellites I will end up with numerous channels that don't belong on the sat you are looking at. On close sats I now only scan with Menu-Setup-Service Searching-Manual Scan selecting Single Satellite-Clear before Scan (yes or yes (keep Feeds)-OK. This will only pick the sat you are looking at and not adjacent sats. Hope this helps.

Sorry, please answer only if you know the topic. It's seems not the case. Searching has nothing to do with my post. ALTERNATIVES is a feature of VU+. Thanks.

Sorry to bother you, Try factory reset and a new image. I will not help again. I have been involved in satellite for 38 years and have a lot of dealings with Vu+.
It looks like no one knows your topic!!
