hello what is best to use cif or samba from my nas to vuduo and vuduo 2 .i dont want anybody to access vuduo and vuduo2 on local lan.

CIFS and SMB ARE THE SAME THING.
If your NAS has NFS support, use it and restrict access to NFS share only to your box IP address.
 
thanks will take look at my synology ds 214 play. it has nfs so i will lokk for the settings of ip address
