You can use an RSS reader on your box and use the RSS avaiable on the Board to receive news....

To aadd new feeds, you have to edit the feeds.xml file.
You can find it into /etc folder: /etc/feeds.xml

    <feed>
        <name>[IT] VUPLUS-COMMUNITY</name>
        <url>http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/forums/-/index.rss</url>
    </feed>

However, I repeat it:
to do what you asked into your first post, you can use the Web Browser plugin.
