connecting to vu duo tuner in avalon

Got the vu duo + and have universes set up ,In blackhole universe Using vlc player my laptop sees the tuner and connects to it.In avalon it does not see the tuner.I can still connect to the box by transfering bougets to my laptop and the vlc. My qustion is should I be able to see the tuner in avalon
I can connect to webif in both dimensions
