Hello guys,

I bought a new WIFI USB adapter D-Link DWA-131 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/adapters/dwa-131-wireless-n-nano-usb-adapter) and tried to connect to VU+ Duo to access LAN via WIFI.

I installed a clean BH Image (H 2.0.1 Build 2013-02-20) in flash, went through the set-up menus and it works like a charm.

I pluged the WIFI USB dongle into the usb slot -> Menu -> Setup -> System -> Network and see my network working correcyly as I didn't unplugged the ethernet cable. ok LAN connection is working.

So I tried to set-up the wifi usb: Green button -> Wireless access point -> OK and get the following message: "Wireless Lan Device not detected"

Ok, so I tried to find my wifi usb in the list from : http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/threads/realtek-8712-driver.2021/ but have to admit this is becoming chineese for me (I'm really not familar with Linux and hexa ;)

So I followed the instruction from http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/threads/wifi-drivers-how-to-report-problems.11437/ and the wifi.txt is attached to this message...

Any idea where I have to start ?

:thanks:in advance for your help !

You have to reboot your box after plugging in WLAN devices, they are not hotplugged. Did you reboot?

Hi,
So just to be sure, I did:
- complete shut-down & power off
- unplugged RJ45 cable (VU was connected to LAN using network cable and it works fine)
- power on
- Green button, (BH Green panel), Select Wireless Access point and got the message: "Wireless Lan Device is not detected"

Is there an additional pluggin, package I have to install to have the DWA-131 recognized by the BH image ?

Check your drivers, this stick should use RTL8712 (RTL8192su) driver, but has strange to me Vendor=2001 ProdID=330d. What H/W version is it? And is it an European version? And before, make an online update.

You can leave LAN cable attached, because when you make a WLAN config, it asks you to disable second interface.

Hello Paolino,

I have to admit that I'm really not familiar with Linux and drivers. How can I do this please? I can telnet my VU, run script, using unix cmd but don't know how to do this.

This is an European product, yes.

Any help will be highly appreciated

Sorry, I didn't read well, you wrote "Green button, (BH Green panel), Select Wireless Access point and got the message: "Wireless Lan Device is not detected" ".
What stupid I am :chair:. Did you configured your WLAN in Menu>Setup>System? Is the stick recognized?

DWA-131 B1 like the one owned by user uses a rtl8192cu.
I will add these ids shortly on the driver.

I will remember the usage of "wireless access point" plugin: it will be used ONLY to create an access point with Vu+ box to share the WIRED network via wifi.
If a USB wifi dongle is correctly detected, appear a dedicated iten into Syatem menu (Wireless LAN Setup).

I've added the experimental support of new DWA-131 revision (B1) but I've compiled the driver for Solo2 box.
If you can wait tomorrow, I will publish here an IPK to be installed and tested on Duo.

Please test if works or not.
