hello first congratulate for the work you do. I wanted to ask why not include a module in configuration to configure the screen of the Vu + that have a display?
 
There is the plugin LCD4Linux that allows you a complete configuration of the LCD. It is a bit difficult, at the beginning, but it's very effective.
