Dissapointment epgs blackhole

As i mentioned in a previous post ive been using 1.7.2 Blackhole with 95 percent success for months now and couldnt help feel curious of the newer images of blackhole,ie 1.7.8 and if there would appeal to me.
Ive always had problems with the epg mainly been that the hdd would loose itself and flash memory would appear as unsuggested in configure Epg and the thing would just stop working,in the old image i would mess around for a while and get it back, the epg restore would never work so this was the only way i could ever get it back.
I basically lived with it because it was a small price to pay for such a great image.
Last week i placed a post on here about this and asking should i try the new blackhole.
I was told to try it which i did but have now relized the epg on this image does all the above but cant even be restored so unless there is any ideas or fixes which i dont think there is after seeing loads of other posts about the same problem i think i have no alternitive to go back to 1.7.2.

I just wanted to say what a shame i think it is that such a great image has been let down by the same problem but is unusable unlike the older ones.

A fix in the next image is all i can hope for..... back to 1.7.3 i go

I totaly disagree with U, the BH image has nothing to do with the epg problem U are having!
Please write the issue you are facing, but step wise and in more details...(1.2,3...)
 
I think you can set EPG up with blue button then red button n mess about with providers there till you get it sorted. You can even get it to update every day or once a week. You can then use the EPG buttons in the plugins list. I just mess about till I get it right for Sly. I must admit its the best EPG ever on a sat box.
 
Ahh i see guys, i have just always found the newer images not working with epg but when i set back to older ones like i have today its working ok?????

It think you have problems with your equipment, as you had big problems last week even getting BH 1.7.8 on your box.

Do you store your epg on usb or hdd ?

If so, format both (from inside the image) and try it again.

Also how many packages do you download ? for best results just pick 1 or 2 providers and see how it goes.
 
Shiro, please could you tell me what you think im experiencing with the epg problems? If there is nothing to solve then it might be my machine or my hard drive.
Like i say i have tryed loads of diff b/h images and have always had problems with epg .
A991 were would i write in more detail??? so team night pick up??
Thought Shiro was part of team?
