Do I have to install black hole?

Hello all and sorry because I am new in these issues.

I wonder to understand why everybody always install black hole ore another image? If I am right, only with black hole you only can see free channels, why then to install? Where can I see the advantages of having some image? And if you recommend me to install it.

It all depends on which model VU+ receiver you have, and what you want out of it.
I have a VU+ Duo2, and use Open Blackhole, because it has similar options to Blackhole, and also the latest version of Kodi, v17.4, which I tend to use to view old television classics.
