duo problem constant reboot

during the last 2 months the problem started with a hard reset i would turn the power off at the back of the box then would have to wait 2 mins (sometimes as much as 5)before the box would reboot. I would get a red led on the display but no starting sequence. Since then other problems would occur pink lines on tv screen, sometimes all pink but not always, then last week the box would just start to reboot. It might go 8 hours then would start a reboot which i would have to turn off the box, wait between 2 and 5 mins then turn back on. Other times it might reboot every 5 mins. I have tried to reflash the box with various images including the original which hasnt changed a thing any ideas anyone am i doing something wrong with reflashing (usb in front then turn on) or does it sound like a hardware problem. By the way it happens a lot more on hd channels for some reason
 
thanks for reply so soon you think its the same problem i can still reflash the box its the constant rebooting that is driving me crazy unless the cap is effecting lots more than the bootup
 
I am having similar problems, I have new caps but not had the time to fit them :oops:

My box will work ok for a few days but then it gets very little use, sometimes when I switch off I have to power on and off 6-7 times before it will boot correctly.
It will flash OK but on a couple of occasions it has frozen during the flash process which worried me so I am not going to do anything until I change the caps.
Maybe I can find time this weekend and I will report back.
 
mine is still under warranty and i only live 40 miles from shop that sold me it, i asked him for a replacement but he said its not his problem i have to pack it up and send it to london 400 miles away for someone there to look at it. If it is a common hardware problem then i should be able to just change at the shop i bought it off as surely vu must no about it
 
thats what i thought it is also up to him to replace the box when i bought the box i got 20 pound cheaper for a very slight scratch on case just wondering if was a returned box because the red led problem has been with it since day one. Will phone him back tomorrow and let you no thanks for your help
