Vu+ Newbie
Hi,

I just bought a Vu+ Duo2 in order to get all the awesome features available compared to my integrated Samsung TV tuner. But there is a slight problem when setting everything up.. I have got 2 cables to the Duo2 from my lnb so that I can watch one channel and record another one simultaneously. However, when I start a recording on Tuner A and zap to another channel, I get no picture. I just get the EPG information and sometimes the subtitles. Tuner A is marked red for recording and Tuner B is marked blue.

I have read alot on the forum in order to see if I could find anyone else that had this problem, but without any luck. I have checked the cables and switched between Tuner A and B, but I experience the same problem if I start recording on Tuner B and switch channel on Tuner A.

One interesting aspect is that I can view FTA (free to air) channels on Tuner B when recording on Tuner A. So it seems to be some kind of problem with the CI, not de-coding dual tuners, but just one at a time. I am using a CI+ module with CD Nordic card.

I would really appreciate if anyone could let me know how to solve this annoying problem. Thanks!

Try to enable multiple service support by Common Interface settings panel:
Menu > Setup > Common Interface > Multiple service support: Auto or Yes

Thanks for the suggestion Mito, I appreciate it.

Unfortunately I have already tried to set the Multiple service support to YES, and I tried again just to make sure. But no, the problem remains.
Am I the only one using a two cable setup with Duo2 without being able to record and watch another program at the same time
using one CI module with a program card?

I can suggest to try with another CI module (a version / revision newer than your - if you have a friend with it it's perfect) and verify if is a CI problem (hw limitation) or a subscription limitation.

I tried to use another CI module (also CD compatible) but I experienced the same problem, no dual tuner support.
So I tried using a CI emulator instead and it worked perfectly after a while :) Now I can record one channel and
watch another one simultaneously.

Thanks for the suggestion angelofsky1980

CI emulator? No no no ..... it breaks our board rules.
I've suggested to test with another CI module, not software one (who is not admitted here).
You have won a week ban vacation.

I suggest to write to Vu+ about your CI module problem.
