I don't think so: power eSata is a different standard. Power eSata does not mean "sata power", that's the name of connectors used for internal HDD. Even my PC has got, as many todays, an external sata port but it is not a Power eSata port. This last is able to carry both power and data.
About your two products, as I cannot see the real result, I tried to google for them but, if I found the same ones you did, the first is just an interface from USB to sata and so you wouldn't use the eSata port but the USB (that's only USB2 on VU+, also!). The second is a power esata cable, useless as I said before.
As I wrote before, you just and only need (apart from the firs esata-sata cable) something to give also power to your HDD. I mentioned the USB only to suggest that you could use one USB port from the VU+ and only, I repeat, to take the 5V power.
I didn't find such a cable at the time, that's why, with the help of a good technician my friend, I made one myself.
You can find on Youtube a video looking for "Power a SATA 2,5'' hard disk drive with USB" BUT MY STRONG SUGGESTION IS: buy a box for HDD with external sata... it's much easier and safer.
And, by the way: if your HDD is a 3,5", no USB port will provide the needed power to it: only an external box or docking station will.
