EPG titles corrupted (gobbeldygook)

I am quite new to the VU+, having used a Dreambox for many years. The EPG works fine when a sat dish is connected. I do though have to use the box with a terrestrial signal only via the DVB-T input and have been trying to set up the EPG accordingly. All seems to go well, and I have chosen (I think) a UK provider of EPG data, but, the titles and descriptions look like variations on this: "!’úê^;.—=ƒßa^]§©ñ hzY¼9 øÚI´×œê)}*0 ©Ù滶-¹dîª~Ü~d¸Í‡g,{aû£=ù[~OLðëÿhÜ;üî". The context is entirely UK/English and all else with the box is ok. All was fine with the sat signal connected (and a different EPG provider).

Anyone know what might be wrong?
