External HD constant reinitialise

I just flashed the latest version of blackhole on my vu solo SE
I want to setup a 1.5tb usb external hard drive to record. So i go into system > hard drive > initialise, all is ok and i can record. When i reboot the hdd is unmounted. I read online that you need to set a mountpoint for the hard drive, so i went to initialise again and then pressed blue blue and then went into device manager, there is no device listed. At this stage i can still record with my usb hdd but everytime i reboot i have to initialise again and my device does not appear in device manager to set a mount point.

Can anyone help where to go from here ?
 
You will have to post the make/model, of your hard drive, and hope someone has the same product, and resolved any problems.
Did you try formatting it, using the VU+, byu selecting the USB options, in the menu, and connecting the device when told to?
 
It is a Samsung 1.5tb external hd that is usb powered, i have formatted correctly with the format tool pressing blue blue - format and connected when told. This i went to system and initialised the drive, after that i went to device manager to mount it, no device appears. i reboot to test, and i am unable to record now because it says the hd has not been initialised, i was using a vix image on it before this and it was working ok on that but i like black hole better. What can be done? there is nothing wrong with the hard drive btw.
