Flashing BH 1.7.4

Vu+ Newbie
I bought one year ago a VU+ solo (no regrets ! :) )
I allways have and will a BH firmware on my solo, cause i like it and it is stable
I have never updated firmware or whatsoever.
Now i want to install the new BH 1.7.4
I put the image 1.7.4 on the usb, shutdown the vu, reset the vusolo, usb red light flashing is shown.
After one or two minutes red light on vusolo blinks green.

I pull out the usb and restart the VU with the reset button on the rear.
However i get no picture on tv, vu gives only green light on receiver and nothing happens.

I read some about FPGA plugin TS_PRO.dat_FPGA_4.4, i do have this file but at this moment no image
I read some about http://www2.vuplus.com/image-release/106-how-to-update-vu-solo-cfe , i do have this file but i am not sure if i shoud use it ...
I read this on another topic: Press CH- to start flashing ;) --> what is CH ???


What should i do, please can someone instruct me which steps to take ? At this moment i have a VU+ with an image which is not starting up.

I have VU+ SOLO, i think i have to find a BH image version 1.6.6 and reflash and then install the new FPGA 4.4 ...or not ??
Where to find the older images on this forum ?

Since you had a old image, you need to upgrade the boot loader before to install the BH 1.7.4: http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/threads/vu-solo-boot-loader-updgrade.4358/
 
Ok, thank you Mito, will do that now, and then reflash the new BH 1.7.4 again.
Will come back to let you now in 20 minutes :-)

yes it works and it looks PERFECT the new interface !!!
Should i also upgrade the FPGA now ??
Also one question about mounting an USB, is it possible to dedicate and mount an usb at the rear to extend the memory for installing plugins or to get a more stable image ???

No, the FPGA update is only for Vu+ UNO.

Yes, it's possible.
 
Still having trouble with many transponders on settingslist downloaded from here:

I have installed the latest drivers from 06 june 2012 and downloaded FPGA 4.4 and the plugin FPGA Upgrade. But when i put the TS_PRO.dat in the /tmp folder and run the FPGA plugin update i got the following error: No Such file or directory press OK to exit
I have made the attributes to 777, should i put the TS_PRO.dat on another folder ?

For example: iconcert 12207 v / 27500 3/4 on 23.5 i got a signal strength of 27%...0%...28% ... and so on with many other settings

Or should i download another settinglist ??? can someone give me advice in my problem that i have and now i am eager to solve this prob

by the way, my image is Blackhole 1.7.4.0 build may 6 2012 receiver is vu solo
 
As far as I know FPGA 4.4 is for VUuno
and not VU solo.
You should never use FW/FPGA/bootloader for different box than for VU+solo

For VUsolo with the old software from last year
it is only necessary to update bootloader (bootloader for VUsolo only)
What you have already made and after flash new image.

I think your problem is a weak signal on the antenna.
Or settingslist.
Manual scan satellites with problems if it does not help then the problem
is almost certainly the antenna installation.
