The board will remain available in Read Only Mode, so all the posts from the last 15+ years are not lost.
We thank you for being part of the community for the last 15+ years.

Ok, it seems there are a few users that wish to make some skins for BH images, but due to skin copyright issue's they have been unable to do so, other than for there own personal use.
Therefore we have prepared a base skin for you to use, to create skins from, for BH images.
There is no copyright protection on this skin, so you are free to makes any changes you wish, as long as it is for the BH image.
Have fun, and don't forget to post your completed skins here for all to use.
You can edit the name of the skin in the skin.xml, and change the folder name to that of your skin too.
Just have to ask if we can use MX HQ10 as base skin for OBH?
In skin header info say:
MX HQ10
Open black hole version: 4.2.0
skin author: Matrix10
This skin is a Freeware. Everyone can modify and use it in other images,
but don't tell it's yours, or your idea!

This skin is a Freeware. Everyone can modify and use it in other images,
but don't tell it's yours, or your idea!
The idea behind this is not to modify the skins (not just mine) but other authors as well
but to make your own skins.
That's why we have released several skins for free use, because it is a good base for learning coding first.
So the idea is not to modify all my skins or from other authors but to do your own.
A couple of rules.
It is not allowed to violate copyright and other rights of other skin authors' and authors of graphic works.
Which practically means that you must have the author's permission to use other works.
The only exception is that the work is declared free.
Of course, yourselves bear the responsibility for copyright infringement.
Example and advice.
I used not Free icons in some old skins
and I asked the author for permission to use.
It is not only legally correct but also fair.
In 99% of cases, you will get permission to use.
Every documented complaint by the author
will have negative consequences on this forum for violators.
A few rules for making skins for Black Hole and Open Black Hole.
In principle, we do not allow the use of python coding within skin files.
What is meant is only coding for skin (skin.xml) and not
python coding outside it.
That is why stability and image performance should be ensured.
We are of the opinion that the use of must go in accordance with the image coder.
Tip for the first steps in the skin world.
Do not try to get some kind of skin from the first one
First of all, learn coding and trying to understand each command inside it.
Take a panel/OSD and change the parameters and see the effect.
Slowly and step by step.
Related to skin names.
For me it is not acceptable to change the names of my skins.
Likewise, the skins that you are working on must wear your name .
