FTP cant write

Hello,
how could I write through FTP? I can read films/etc from my VU, but cant write there any file ... I am sure, there has to be set write (instead only read) attribute, but where could I set it? Does anybody know?

That is strange, i can write anything.
Which file system is your hdd?
Can you record on it from vu+?
Is it mounted properly?
