I was playing with XBMC plug in last night, and it can be a pain pressing buttons to get to the shutdown menu. But if you press the remote control power button it brings up XBMC shutdown screen and it then easy to close it down.

Another Tip if you don't have a mouse on your box but have a keyboard, press C is just the same as right click on the mouse. You need to use right click to set some options in XBMC.
