Note: works great in solo2, quiet and no problems with speed. Box does run little hot, 40 degrees, but don't know of that's down to the hardrive, have increased speed on fan slightly to keep things cool. Cheapest 2.5inch 1tb of good name I could find.

Would you please explain more how many partions usually needed to max the performence? How much the size of each partions should have ? How to configure these partions?

My experience said one only big partition.

You can use your old IDE drive with external USB-to-IDE adapter ... or, if exists, with IDE-to-SATA adapter to mount it internally.
