Hdmi-Cec Solo2 Power on Problem.

Dasizzle

Vu+ Newbie
Hello everyone.
I got this fairly new bravia tv from Sony. And i got this one problem with the Hdmi control.
I want my solo2 to turn on when i turn my tv on. I can turn the tv on when turning on the solo2.
all my setting under Hdmi-Cec are correct i believe. and i got no problems with my other cec' devices such as ps3, and receiver.

i have tried disconnect my receiver and ps3. and disable all other settings than tv power on action -> vu+ power on. but it will still not work.

have anyone else encountered the same type of problem ?
BR.

why dont you try connection your sat to hdmi 2,3, or 4 in your tv. your tv has ARC (Audio Return channel) if it is fairly new like mine. the ARC channel is hdmi 1 always. and it send audio back from your tv to your receiver.
if your receiver dossent suport hdmi 1.3, or more this might solve your problem. :) !

Thanks for replying. Both TV (Sony HX-823) and the surround system (HT-AS5) are newish and both of em support hdmi 1.3 & ARC.

Are you suggesting that I connect Solo2 to TV directly ?... I don't see the need of it as it is connected the way it is suppose to be..... (unless I'm missing something.. ) ?

Is your sound system compatible with cec? If it's - why is not turning on together with your TV?
I do believe you've already enabled CEC (is it called sync?) in Bravia menu and got plugin configured in your vu?

to eliminate fault/incompatibility of your sound system. Make sure you've got right HDMI lead as well.
To suggest more I need to know more details regarding your TV and sound system.

Thanks mate for your response.

Sound System does turn on/off with the TV.
in TV menu, Its called Bravia Sync and I see Sound System in there.
re your question about "the right lead" - I assume I have the right one as ARC (Audio Return Channel) is working.
not sure what you meant by "and got plugin configured in your vu?"
Please see the screenshot of my hdmi-cec configuration...
TV is KDL-46HX803 and Sound System is HT-AS5.
What more you would like to know?...

you need 2 leads compatible with hdmi 1.4 (but yours seems like it is because of ARC). Not sure your amp is already compatible and can handle CEC commands on hdmi inputs.
Please try to use direct connection between your vu+ and TV excluding your home theatre system.

there were some suggestions posted above, have you tried those ideas?
Have you checked Bravia sync? Solo settings? What hdmi port do you use? What lead?
I do understand you need help but nobody here will be able to help you with info what you've already written down.

I have tried all those suggestions. I am using hdmi 1 and the cable that came with the unit. The common denominator seems to be the bravia tv. I am using default settings with no av receiver attached.

Hi All,
Although this topic is fairly old, I just add my experience with Sony s CEC compatibility.
I used Solo2 and CEC pluging with Samsung TVs and it s working perfectly.
I can t make it work (Solo2 power on triggered by Sony s TV) neither with SONY nor LG TVs regardless of the settings on both sides. I tried various images on the VU side and different VU terminals (Solo2 and VUZero).
The conclusion is that this specific feature is depending on how the CEC protocol is implemented in the TV.
Since this feature is working between SONYs own components (as far as I could understand from various threads) , I cannot exclude that it also depends on how the protocol is implemented in the CEC-plugin....
Since I need to have the Solo2 in a closed cabinet and use exclusively the TVs remote, I am still looking for a solution.
Wondering if I could find somebody with experience/advisory in the development of the CEC-plugin....
The service from Sony is now soooo poor, that I am not even going to send them the question....useless, trust me (had 2 months discussions for Bluetooth remote connection issues with unskilled people from a call center visibly located in north Africa while I am located in Europe).
