Vu+ Newbie
We are new to the world of telly boxes having previously had Sky+ for a number of years. We needed a satellite service to even get Channel 5 where we live and after the changeover to digital the local mast only provided 19 of the 40 odd possible Freeview channels and it's still no further forward. Before retirement, I wanted to be able to record some series and with an old dvd recorder we often came home to total rubbish because the channels had changed their running order. The selling point for us was series link and - quickly hooked and very happy campers. Now we've found out we can have something similar without needing to pay a fortune to Sky.
We got the Vu+Duo box because it was recommended by a friend who has one. We are getting to grips with it but it was a big letdown that there was no proper user guide in the box and we are not techie minded. Is this because there are half a dozen different softwares that the box can come with? Do the buttons on the remote do different things depending on what software you've got? I'd have thought that the basics of watching, recording and playback would have been the same though.
We've posted a question and probably willl have to ask a few more as we go along. Nice to meet you all.
