You mast put on box image 1.7.8 after this when you change chanell who is send hbbtv like ZDF; RTL and other you will be see possibility used hbbtv.
On skin you see icon in red hbbtv.
After this you mast only push red bouthons and hbbtv will be run

No, you don't need an internet connection to use the plugin but you need a channel who provides the service.
