How does the dev team decide what to work on next?

I'd be interested to know how the BH dev team select new features to work on for future releases?

Is there any way to submit suggestions?

I've tried various other images but quickly return to BlackHole but obviously there are features in other images that BlackHole would benefit from! :cool:

Well...here are a few I think would make BH untouchable!

1. sync fine tuning - I find every image has sync issues and its quite hard to fine tune the sync at the minute...a small interface where you can watch the tv in nearly full screen while adjusting the value would be very useful!

2. Tuner priority - ability to select the 'most important' tuner...eg. Tuner A & B are pointed to Astra 28E and Tuner C is Motorised - I'd like to keep tuner C free from recordings on 28E until both A & B are busy! This obviously ensures you can watch other satellites instead of tying up the motorised dish!

3. Automatic language selection - ability to choose default language followed by secondary languages! eg. Default for me is English but when on foreign satellites it would be useful for the box to default to 'undetermined' (or something of your choice)

4. recorded files - I have 2 boxes and share hard disks between boxes so recordings can be viewed on either box! The ability to add multiple sources for recorded files instead of having to select location by bookmark would be very useful!

4. Tuner server - this will be a great addition to BH and I know its early days but it really needs to be more user friendly over time to get use out of it...theres no way my wife could be bothered with the steps to get it working downstairs and yesterday she was trying to record 2 and watch a 3rd on the Duo so would have benefited from it but would have no interest in the many steps required to get it working!


Like I said, I love BH....its by far my favourite so these additional features IMO would make it legendary :)

If anyone else has a suggestion, feel free to add to this thread!
 
5. picture from 1 channel and audio from another - this would be amazingly useful for watching football on 1 sat that has no commentary in your default language! You could watch the picture from that satellite and listen to audio from another eg. Sky Italia picture for a 3pm UK PL game and audio from 5 Live radio on 28E :grin:
 
1) Isn't there a plugin avaliable for that ?

2) The Ultimo will work like you want anyway, except if you are watching a different channel on tuner a or b at the time the first 2 timers start, in which case it will use Tuner C as it's "spare".

3) I have also asked for this in the past, and feel it would be an excellent addition to the BH image.

5) I love the sound of that, thinking more of the F1 this season, watch the feed from RTL or something and use 5 live commentry :)

I think the motorised tuner should always be free until it needs to be used! If you're recording on A, watching 28E on B and another recording for 28E needs to start then you should be shifted to C so you can still watch foreign sats while A and B are tied up!

The plugin is called Audio lip sync or something like that.

As for the tuners, yeh I understand what your saying, and to have the option to select that would be great :)

This actually sort of works on my Ultimo! Its buggy but I did manage to get Sky Sports 1 in the main picture and a small Radio 5 Live in the corner with audio from the latter! It then went mental and screwed up my skin but the potential is there!

I'd consider this an invaluable plugin for sports fans.....bound to be worth consideration!
 
When you record 8 channels simmultaneity after finished, RAM is very high (98%) ...

Is it normal??

I Have the same,,,as long as, there is no Green Screen,,,I guess its OK!
Will U can use swap file @USB or use a script for RAM enforcer on USB swap memory file,,,have done that with my STB and no problem what so ever!
