I want to compile gdisk for VU+ Solo2.
The source code of this program is available here.

Question:
Can anybody please provide a (short) howto guide for compiling a tarball for plattform VU+ Solo2?

You should create a recipe file (.bb) into OE env.
What kind of software is the gdisk ?

You don't need this,
the next 2.0.5 will included parted package.
 
Well, I don't intend to move to 2.0.5 right now.
Could you please provide a short howto-guide to build the package?
