How to stop a recording

I setup a programme to record on timer but subsequently during recording I wanted to stop it and I have failed to figure out how ro do it. I have no problem cancelling a timer recording that hasn't started yet only something in process. I tried all the obvious things (to me) presssing the remote recording related buttons etc...

Love the site, loads of fantastic visual tutorials here, so thanks to all for getting me this far.

Go to timer and delete the regarding timer. ( Menu > Timer )

another way that should work is to zap to the channel you are recording and then pressing the 'record' button on your remote again
this should give you an option to 'stop recording'
