image dilemma

Need some help as seller (hm-sat -de) not responding. i bought vu+ duo (not clone)

i'm unsure what firmware i have been sold. it says:

version Nov 8 2011 -vuplus_experimental
Image: experimental 2011-11-08

what firmware is this? PLi?


I would like to upgrade/ change image , what's best?

Can I do this on line and if so how? link to instructions etc?

Also is it easier just to flash?

Will new flash/firmware replace deleted root/password from folder? (accidentally...long story and completely lost all ftp / telnet access) 'change root password' plugin ineffectual as folder gone!

Well the bootlogo tell you wich image it is, probably the original from VuPlus.

Update or Flash depends on the image you gonna use, if you take the BlackHole from this team, you can only flash it, but don`t update it!!

Go to the Vu Duo section and download the image of your choiche, the 1.7.4 is the latest one.
Unzip the file and put the vuplus folder inside it on a usb stick wich is formatted as fat32

Power off the box, turn off the powerswitch on the back, put the stick in the front and switch the power on at the back and watch the front display it will tel you when it`s ready and ask you to reboot.

Stick out of the front and power off and on, that`s all.

And yes you will have to configure all your settings again, so also your password is resetted.
