Image update problem

When I update the image BH 2.0. , all my files are overwritten by the update, even if they are older.

For example the language file enigma.mo is systematically replaced by the one in the image.

Is there a way to avoid that ?
Either by cheating on a time-stamp somewhere, or is there a config file where we could ask not to update some file ?
