Welcome to the new and improved blackhole-community.com board.
As many of you know, this board was originally setup for the BlackHole image when we were supporting Vu+ products only.
Since the BlackHole image is no more and we were left with this board just being an archive for the old now extinct BlackHole image we thought that maybe this board could be put to better use.
We get lots of requests to support various boxes that are no longer in production, but we are unable to do this, as we pride ourselves in releasing images that we have personally tested, to find as many bugs and issues as possible, before we release them to the public, we feel this is the best way to provide images as we do not wish to introduce images for boxes we can not test as it risks adding instability into our images.
However since we have this board here, we think it would be a nice bonus for our users if we provide you with an OpenBh "community" image. This version of the image will be based on the "Release" branch of our OpenBh image, with the exception that it will only be built for some of the more popular boxes that are no longer in production and therefore that we can not test for ourselves as we are unable to obtain samples for testing with.
So in essence, the community image will be a public beta, that you the users will test and report issues and in some cases provide the code to fix the issues yourselves.
It will be updated as and when we have the time to merge changes, so it will not automatically follow the same update timeframe as our "Release" image, however it will still be provided by the same team, so you will no longer need to rely on unofficial images for some of the older boxes that you own.
Any image released on this board, will be a community build, which means the support for any bugs or fixes, will be provided by you the members of this board. We will not be offering any support here or on openbh.net for the community images.
So keep an eye out for the upcoming OpenBh "community" image.
