Installing/Uninstalling Plugins-addons ??

Guys i was wondering if you have leftovers in the root menu of your box when you uninstall plugins that you don't want...Is it like the Windows registry?,i mean do things remain or not ??
If yes then , does flash erase cleans the remains of root or not ??
