no,you can partition your hdd with vti image ,in device manager___yellow botton initialise and choose your partition

You can use fdisk command from a telnet session too.
It looks scary on the first look, but it is not so difficult. There are plenty of guides on the net...
Also, there is the eParted plugin but it needs the parted package which I think is not available on the BlackHole feeds. Maybe the team can help and provide the package somehow...
