Yes, you can view MPEG-4 HD channels, on the VU+ range, but that covers a lot of channels.
Which channels are you having problems with?

The duo should still tune to it, although it can take a bit of time for it to lock to a low SR.

Sometimes changing the SR slightly will help speed things up, changing 1774 to 1773 or 1775 might help.
