Lock of settings ??

Hi

I'd like to know if there is still no way to lock settings ? as I'd like to prevent users to be able to change any settings in the VU+. I have found an old thread (2 years old) stating it's not possible !
Is it still impossible ? even by way of a plugin or extension ??
