Hi,
This is my first post, thanks for the good work.

I have a Mac formatted Hard disk and a solo2 box. Black hole media player does not 'see' it. Is there a solution to this?

Thank you

HFS support should be already included into Solo2 kernel, you should mount manually your disk before see it into Media Player.
I've not yet tested this part of image because I don't have a MAC formatted disk avaiable.

Thank you angelofsky for your reply.
I tried mounting the HD through Device Manager but again the media center does not see it. When I connect the HD, I only see a new empty partition in the media center i.e. containing only the 'folder' "List of Storage Devices". The files and folders are not listed.

Are you sure that this device is mounted ?

I don't think that Solo2 can handle HFS FS with default kernel.

root@vusolo2:~# cat /proc/filesystems
nodev sysfs
nodev rootfs
nodev bdev
nodev proc
nodev tmpfs
nodev devtmpfs
nodev sockfs
nodev usbfs
nodev pipefs
nodev anon_inodefs
nodev rpc_pipefs
nodev devpts
ext3
ext2
ext4
nodev ramfs
vfat
msdos
iso9660
nodev unionfs
nodev nfs
nodev nfsd
nodev cifs
ntfs
nodev autofs
udf
nodev mqueue
nodev mtd_inodefs
nodev ubifs

And if i search for HFS in the kernel config

# CONFIG_HFS_FS is not set
# CONFIG_HFSPLUS_FS is not set

there you can see, that HFS support is disabled.

If you are using Mountain Lion, the issue should be due to the lack of samba on your Mac.

I've not tested it, but you should solve the issue installing SMBUp on your Mac.
It's a free tool and you can download it from the following link:
Code:
http://eduo.info/apps/smbup

If you install it, let us know if it works.

Hmm, good point, there is a question, do you have this disk in your Solo2 or do you access it via network ?

I haven't fixed the problem. I finally formatted my disk in Ntfs so I can't check it anymore.

I am still interrested in ths though so if someone finds the answer please post.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Guys, how are you?
I'm very interested to know if there is a solution to use a mac formatted HD in Solo2 running under BH 7.0.2
I have the same problem as Thanoss, my external HD is seen as an empty partition :(
Hope we can find a solution.
Thank you in advance

Still no solutions??? :(

I haven't analyzed the kernel drivers needed to support HFS/HFS+ partitions.
Actually my work has priority and next Satellite hobby has other priorities too .... but I'll put your request in my TODO list.
