MP4 videos not playing

MickyMac

Vu+ Newbie
I was on BH 3.1.0.H on my vu+ Solo4k and was having some problems- mainly constant rotating delay icon in the top left-hand corner of the screen, and constantly having to refresh my network in order to access the box over my lan.
I reflashed the box to 3.1.0 and on-line updated to 3.1.o.H
The delay has gone but the network problem is still there. I have measured 20Mb/s download speed at the box.

BUT now I cannot play any MP4 videos. When I try, no picture or sound happens.
Downloaded .ts files play normally.
Seems that a codec is missing?
I am using Enhanced Movie Center 4.4

Any suggestions?
Can I manually add a codec to the box?
Would an older version of EMC be worth trying? (Is EMC the problem?)

Tks in advance

I cannot find "Service Player plugin".
Where can I find it?

I've got ServiceApp enabled. There does not seem to be any settings with this App.

As mentioned above, "I've got ServiceApp enabled. There does not seem to be any settings with this App."
So I cannot change anything.
Because of the strange errors such as the above and losing WiFi often and lots of time a rotating wait circle at the top of the screen, I have changed to OBH. Now I can at least play MP4 videos and everything except EPG is working.

Loosing WIFI or NETWORK, generaly devolves the rotation circles ( spinner ) = busy box!

ServiceApp enabled is not the end of the story: you have at least two options for the player.
Anyway, OBH is a good choice, too.

I know I have to get used to OBH, but it "feels" like the channel change is much slower than BH. Is that what others notice too?
(and I still cannot get any EPG to work - I know, it's nothing to do with OBH itself, but it was one of the things which caused me to try OBH instead of BH on which it worked now and then)

How can I know what is causing the "busy box"? And how do I stop it being "busy"?

If the Stb is trying to get connected to your Network, it will try and retry until it gets connection, until it does, you will get the spinner.
