You see why some of us users think that it's probably appropriate just close a thread to further posts? After all:
1) they would be still readable and useful (in case) to someone.
2) If anyone really needs to say something about a topic, they can always open a thread.
Considering the way the first section in the forum (after the shoutbox) works, I mean "Recent threads", which only shows the last five posts (not threads, despite of its name), it's also a useless waste of precious space there
