New Offical Images 2.1

Wow. Big development. When should we expect to see BH 2.1 images do you think?

Reading those numbers "2.1" you can find, that it is OE2.1, means update of OE2.0 (Black Pole image). BH is OE1.6 and will never be OE2.1.
OE1.6 is using python 2.6 for plugins, OE2.0 and 2.1 python 2.7.
So, if you want BH OE2.1, install Black Pole (not for Solo2 yet, Solo2 is too young).

If BlackHole is based on Official Image, there not BlakHole OE 2.1, why?
Because it does exist on OE2.0 and its name is BlackPole. Maybe there will be an upgrade of BlackPole to OE2.1.
OE1.6 is not dead, development is still in progress, there is a planty of applications written in python 2.6 and a lot of images is using stable OE1.6.
OE2.0 is younger, has plugins written in python 2.7 (they are not compatible with OE1.6 python 2.6).

BP will not be renamed in BH.

and certainly/for sure not replaced with BP
These are different projects.

Yes, projects are different. So let's wait for new OpenBlackHole, but at first, it's time to try new official OpenVuplus 2.1 image, to find which OE2.0 plugins are working and clean the bugs from it.

I tried it just now on Solo2, some little big bugs. After installation, you can select only RGB, S-Video and CVBS video modes.
You have to install Videomode plugin from plugin menu to be able to set DVI (HDMI) output resolution.
And doing this, it will install automatically Webinterface and if your OpenWebif is on (by default is "on" after new image installation), you will get green screen. And the old Webinterface is "on" by default after installation.

I posted on 2 threads this problem, is it possible, that it was for nothing? http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/posts/78358/ and http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/threads/black-hole-vu-solo2-1-7-9-3.10184/page-6

Anyway, it's OE2.0 compatible.

Other important thing:
On Solo2 with internal HDD attached, before any USB flashing, delete from your HDD folders /vuplus/ and /backup/, anyway it will hang on boot after flashing. (VFD shows "Vu+ Solo2").
It's valid for any image flashing!
