No Mpeg Audio on DVD player

I've had some success burning DVDs from recordings.

SD material from satellite has MPEG Audio, Version 1, Layer 2.

When I play these DVDs in DVD player, there is no audio, only video. Audio track is reported as "MPEG".

I can play the DVD .vob files on Media Player, audio & video. Audio track is reported as "MPEG 1 Audio, Undetermined". They also play on my Sony DVD player.

Why can't DVD player decode this simple audio, created by vu+?
 
I'm talking about DVD player in Black Hole. With DVDs created by Vu+. They play in Media Player (.vobs), commercial DVDs with AC3 audio play in BH DVD player, but DVDs created by Vu+ using Burn DVD plugin from SD satellite transmissions don't have running audio.

The format is obviously supported in BH, it's what the satellite transmissions use, but the DVD player (with external USB DVD drive) can't decode audio. Strange.
