OpenVPN on BH and Kodi

Looking for some tips.
I have OpenVPN addon running on my Solo 4k using the Open BH image. I thought this would then cover all operations run on the system. However I have noticed that when i run Kodi it does not use the vpn connection.? Is there a way to do this? I dont want to have to run vpn on both the BH image and Kodi
