hi all just changed default passwd on new bh 1.7.3 on duo with dcc and when tried to reconnect it connects on ftp and telnet and connects to bm750 but then disconnects me off telnet a couple of secs later ? tried via putty as well and allows the change and does same again ? any ideas pls guys ?

Try to reboot your box and see if you still have the problem.
