Pillarbox using Media Player

Hi all,
I have problem reproducing 4:3 ratio video on a 16:9 display using media player (latest available image), it streach the video to 16:9.
No problem viewing normal SAT 4:3 channel.

Any idea?

You are referring to last image "avaiable", wich image?
What Vuplus STB are you using?

Note: To more simple help you, next time post on the section of the STB and Image you are using!

I presume you have the 2 ones mentioned on the above post ... you can give a try to MEDIAPLAYER2 ... and let the base configuration AV settings for SAT viewing, that matchs you preferences.

Now --> for MEDIA playback, install MEDIAPLAYER2, you can find a guide for it here --> http://www.vuplus-community.net/boa...mediaplayer2-as-default-player-on-xbmc.23381/

If you intend to use XMBC ... copy the files plugin.py files ... 1280x720 or 1920x1080, according the skin resolution you use on your STB´S. I think you use Matrix10 FullHD Skins on it ... so 1920x1080 plugin.py file.

If not, install only MEDIAPLAYER2 and leave the default player to play your Media content on XBMC.

Begin as i said on guide ... by installing the 2 python ipk files, followed by subsupport and for last, MEDIAPLAYER2.

Upon installed ...

When playing a MOVIE you can by pressing the key <5> on your remote control, for change the video ratio 4:3 to 16:9 ( pan&scan / just scale / letterbox / linear ), on both ratios ...

Really a great help, I will do that "upgrade" tomorrow.

Strange thing is that sometime the Standard Mediaplayer is reproducing movies correctly...

Installed, up&running.

I have only a problem with subtitles, I search if already happened to other.

they are working also for me, but not with every sub I have tested (I'm testing the entire image)

with some sub (*.sub) I'm getting --> Cannot load sub, Invalid path
with some sub (*.srt) I'm getting --> Cannot parse........
with some sub (*.srt) It's working fine

I have found a really small behavioural thing asking for plugins menu, if you call plugin with green button instead of menu-->plugin you have not the plugins in the same order (btw in the second case "Media Player 2" is on the top...
Another small thing is, if you set Media Player 2 to be shown on "Main Menu" than you can find it is called "Media Player" without "2", so you have "Media Player" displayed twice... but... again, really small thing...

I think you have not defined the subssuport settings! Go to plugins, and define subsupport settings, like location, languages, fonts size, etc... and on of media downloads i use /media/hdd/movie for it. Of course you must do it too on MEDIAPLAYER2.

Take a look too on the guide mentioned, to the controls of Mediaplayer2

I know that, this is hapening on Blackhole images, cause in Open Blackhole the default Mediaplayer only appear on MENU if setted to do it.

But i think that it goes, to the most of your expectations, and solve your severall issues.
