Playing files from the LAN

Dani

Vu+ Newbie
Can the Vu+ play files on my LAN (laptop etc)?

Do i have to mount each device?
If so, could someone pls offer a quick guide
I expect once "mounted", it should show up in the Media Player list?

Previous boxes i own, just find any and every share without any extra settings
I am trying to play files from a MacBook Pro, perhaps a little different to gain access than a pc?

MacBook Pro I do not know..
But try to use Network>>>NetworkBrowser for this.
I can use and mount all XP PCs in my home and MYBOOKLIVE network drive.

I have mounted my WDTV Live Hub that way, but then again, it is a server.
I have mounted my old DM7000 and played files from that also using the above method.

Perhaps its a MacBook thing.... maybe i need to find the "username" and "password" even though i don't know it nor have ever needed it.

When i use Network Browser, it does find all things connected to my network and gives their network address.
But what are you meant to do from there?
Expand?
Or there is a menu which gives around 4 or 5 options, but they seem to be more in relation to mounting the HDD of your device for recording purposes?

I'm obviously doing something wrong ;)
