I have a few vu plus boxes in the house and wonder if its possible to have 1 acting as a server for the other boxes? using the network to stream the channels to the other boxes?
awesome, im trying it now, if the box has only 1 tuner and the tuner is in use is there any way to let another device have priority on changing the channel? for example if the server box is active on sky news channel with user1 and user2 in another room wants to change to bbc one on another vu plus box , can user2 get his wish?
My dear, you want three boxes working with just one tuner??? Please... If your main box has got an FBC tuner and if you've got a Unicable/SCR LNB, well... things will be getting better for you
No it is just for 1 person but 2 devices in separate rooms ... was hoping to use the vuplus box as a tuner which can be tuned on either the vuplus box directly or samsung smart tv with the smart iptv application. so if the user tunes something on the smart tv it will take priority over the vu plus box and switch the channel on the server. if the user later switches rooms and goes back to the vu plus box.... that channel they selected earlier on the smart tv will also display on the vu plus box. Very hard to explain, i dont know if this is possible or not but it would be great.
Ok i've managed to get it working however i can only change channels on the smart iptv app once the vu plus zero is in standby.. is it possible to write a script to allow the box to go to standby after a certain amount of seconds after booting? i would like the box to go to standby mode 20 seconds after the startup process.
I've already tried downloading the startuptostandby plugin but it seems to work too fast, when i have installed the plugin and activated, i restart the vu plus to confirm it is in standby mode... i go back to the second device and im unable to zap the channels.
if i go back to the vu plus zero box and press stb on the remote then turn it off back to standby then i can zap channels on the smart iptv app. If anyone could provide any help that would be great
Which box you use for your testing
that you have to go to standby ?
I read it now
Zero has a poor processor for such use
Probably that's why you're going to standby.
The best is to use 4K boxes with the FBC tuner
or minimal duo 2.
I'm afraid that zero is weak for such use
but I did not test it.
I think ,Limitation of use is not just a tuner but also processor in Zero.
And for unlimited use of the channels SAT antenna installation.
But for limited use
(depending on antenna installation)
